Many dogs are stressed by attending the veterinary clinic and for that reason if you have decided that the time has come for your older or ill dog to be PTS (euthanised) it may be in the dog’s interest for this procedure to take place in their home. Given the pressures veterinary practices are under, it may be difficult to arrange this at short notice

One practice in the jurisdiction offers a dedicated home euthanasia service. They can offer advice to clients on when it is in the best interests of the dog to be euthanised and then carry out the procedures at a suitable time, including evenings and weekends.
